10th Grade - 5 pts

Welcome to High School English

This year, you will WRITE a lot,  READ a lot, and TALK a lot (but only when your teacher asks you to).

Your teachers expect you to:

1. Come to class on time, ready to learn (that means you have your books, notebook, and a pen or pencil).

If you are in your seat when the bell rings, but you have to go out to get your class materials, you will be considered as tardy for class.

Even if you tell me that you will be late for class, I will mark  you as late if you come into the room after the bell rings.

2. Take an active part in the learning process – which means that you will do your homework, ask questions, and raise your hand to answer questions.

Hand in your homework assignments during the first 5 minutes of class, after that, it will be considered as late.

3. Be respectful of your teacher and other students.

Class rules:

General Behavior
1. Since class time is for learning, use the breaks and not class time to do the following:
    a. Use the bathroom.
    b. Talk with your friends, teachers or parents in person, on the phone or otherwise.
    c. Take things to your friends, teachers or parents.
    d. Get things from your friends, teachers or parents.
    e. Eat food and drink liquids other than water.
2. Do not chew gum.
3. During the lesson your phone cannot be seen, heard or used – as a watch, translator, note-taker,
message sender or anything else.
4. Bring long sleeves, even if it’s 35°C outside. The air conditioning will always be on. Do not
complain about the air conditioner.
5. Be at your seat with the materials out at the start of the lesson. There is no coming into class
after me.
6. Do NOT talk when someone else is talking.
7. Do not laugh at, make fun of or insult other students for any reason.
8. Wait until I am done explaining something before asking questions.
9. Participation in class is MANDATORY. “I don’t know”, “I don’t want to” are not
participation.
10. Homework is to be 100% completed at home and by the due date. Failure to do either or both
will mean a drop in your grade. “I didn’t understand the question or exercise” or "I wasn't in class so I didn't know about the assignment" are not  acceptable excuses for not doing homework.
11. Check your Mashov and messages DAILY!
You can contact me on the Mashov. I check the Mashov daily.
